    Båstad is located on the northwestern edge of the Bjäre Peninsula in Skåne (Scania) County. It sits by a sheltered bay with the scenic Hallandian Ridge (Hallandsåsen) rising behind it — one of southern Sweden’s few elevated terrains

  • Tennis in Båstad
    Known as Sweden’s tennis capital, Båstad has hosted the Swedish Open since 1948 (ATP) and the WTA tournament since 2009. The clay‑court stadium seats over 5,000 spectators and is Sweden’s largest tennis facility

  • St. Mary’s Church (Mariakyrkan)
    A Romanesque medieval church dating from the 15th century, it features Gothic murals, a Danish altarpiece, and runic inscriptions in the font

  • Norrviken Gardens
    Just 3 km northwest of town, these award‑winning gardens (founded in 1906) were voted Sweden’s most beautiful and the second most beautiful in Europe back in 2006. Though they’ve faced financial challenges, they remain a highlight for visitors

  • Beaches & Harbor
    Skansenbadet — the main beach next to the harbor — is popular in summer, complete with a bathing bridge and the iconic year‑round kallbadhus (cold bathhouse and sauna) out on the pier

  • Trails & Nature
    The Kattegattleden coastal path passes Båstad, offering scenic walks and cycling. Nearby the Hovs Hallar nature reserve has dramatic cliffs, forest trails, and wild shoreline views. Within Båstad’s own ridge, routes along Grevie Åsar (rolling hills) are popular for easy hiking

  • Cultural Stops
    ● Swedish Tennis Museum – exhibits the history of Swedish tennis from origins to champions.
    ● Birgit Nilsson Museum – dedicated to the famed opera singer born near Båstad.
    ● Agardhsgatan – one of the town’s oldest streets with charming 17th-century houses and climbing roses
